Run your own servers. You can install wordpress on them, and smtp, and no bureaucracy.

The vast majority of people, which run their web sites, do not have their own dedicated server or root access to a shared server. Most are on virtual private servers. A lucky few have their site distributed globally by using a cloud provider.

Even when i did have a dedicated server, i didn’t know enough about smtp server to send directly to localhost (meaning my own server) smtp bypassing the bureaucracy. Think sending directly to local smtp is asking alot from the average user.

Most “smart” people’s sites [myself excluded ;-( ] are distributing content from blogs or have a simple company site. They can’t be asked to do any coding.

Just like Saul said if you knew how to do it and had your own server then you are way way ahead of the pack.

Yes, @nixkuroi Mike has his own server, and is actually aiming to add to it – to support connex.us traffic.
